Mastery Math’s at Somerlea Park Junior School
The use of Mastery Maths allows children to choose from a set of linked objectives focusing on a particular Maths skill, with the aim of all children reaching Secure/Using by the end of the week.
After initial teacher input at the start of the week, children can choose from Emerging, Developing or Secure. They must then correctly answer 10 questions before moving to the next level.
Emerging This objective is taken directly from two years below the appropriate age group. It should be an objective which will develop essential skills in order for children to achieve their age appropriate objective.
