Stephenson Class

Welcome to Stephenson Class.

It has been a fantastic start to the new school year. Our new Year 3s are a fantastic group and have started life at Somerlea Park with a hard working attitude. I am sure we will have lots of fun this year.

What are we proud of this week?

We are so proud of our Pride Award Winner, Lincoln, our Math's Star, Sam and our Writer of the Week, Kayden.

Last week, we took part in voting for our School Council representatives. We are delighted to announce that the winners were Maizie and Isabelle. They will begin work at the first School Council meeting on September 26th.

We are so proud of ourselves for achieving 100% attendance last week. As a result, we earned twenty pounds to spend on whatever we like. We will report soon on what we chose!

We are enjoying learning about new topics this half term.

We are learning about the place value of  3 digit numbers.

These fun  games will help you practice place value skills.

We read the book Stone Age boy and wrote our own time travelling stories.

Next we will write reports about prehistoric animals.

In Book Club we are reading The Dragon Machine by Helen Ward,

You can listen to the story and look at the pictures here.

These activities will help you learn to spell words with the prefixes un, in and dis.

We are learning about Healthy Eating as well as our skeletons and muscles. We enjoyed listening to this fun song about the skeleton.

Our first topic is Who Were The First Britains? We are investigating life in the Stone Age, Bronze Age and Iron Age. This video is about a boy who travels thousands of years into the past.

We are excited to be learning French. Our current unit of work helps us learn how to greet people and  ask and say our names.

Find out about France here.

Practice your French skills with these activities
